Washington Butler is a Puyallup native who was fascinated by the arts at a very young age. She performed on stage as well as in the schools. She moved into Los Angeles in order to pursue a degree in the University of Southern California and later played Belle her princess role for a period of one and a half seasons at Disneyland. Her departure from college was to search for an agent. Then she began doing auditions and appearing on TV and in film. In 2008, she appeared as the role of a woman in Don Stark's webseries Luke 11-17. Butler has also appeared in a frequent part on I Love Vampires, a web-based series. Butler won the leading role in the 2010 thriller about rape and revenge I Spit on Your Grave. This remake is a remake from 1978 of the beloved film of the same title. The film was initially an unpopular choice for her due to the of its nudity, violence and female undertones. However, the strong storyline and feminist element led her to agree to the part. Steven R. Monroe directed the film which was released on the 8th of October, the year 2010. Butler began shooting the psychological thriller The Stranger Within alongside Estella Warren and William Baldwin in Mallorca Spain in November 2011. The plan was to shoot in Copenhagen Denmark, New York City as well. Butler played a role in 2013's terror film The Demented with Michael Welch as well as Kayla Ewell.
